I was just about to give up on internet dating, as I'd tried on and off for years, when I got a message from a guy called Steve. He looked really lovely in his pics and his email was well written, but although I wrote his email address down, I didn't feel I was ready to get back to him. So a month or so later, I received another email from him on Dating Direct, but unfortunately my membership had run out!! Then I remembered that I had luckily written his email address down and was able to reply. We emailed for a bit and eventually met up. Our first date was brilliant and when he texted me when he got home that he'd like us to meet up again, I danced around my living room!!! I knew he was 'the one'!! So, a year and a half later we are engaged, and we will be getting married next summer in Cyprus. I had become very cynical about internet dating, but I now tell all my single friends my story and they are all giving it a go. It just proves that it works! Thanks Dating Direct!! ps. the funniest thing about it is that my fiance's last name is the same as my first name so I'm going to be Mrs Nicola Nicola!!! Very strange!!
